On July 15th, 2009, for the 3rd year in a row ProStar Insurance sponsored the Everett Aquasox Baseball Team’s Bark in the Park event at the Aquasox field in Everett. ProStar had a booth set up to give away various items to the fans and had a raffle for a grand prize which a lucky fan from Mill Creek received. A special thanks to MetLife, Travelers, and CNA for providing ProStar with great items to give away to fans. All together around 40 people including owners, staff, agents, company representatives, family, and friends representing ProStar were in attendance. The event was a great success and the company plans on attending again next year.

ProStar Insurance sponsored a hole for the North Everett Lions/Sequoia High School Putt-Putt Golf Fundraiser. ProStar Insurance was the second hole on the course and it proved itself to be tough since it was the only hole to have a water hazard for golfers to navigate around. One lucky participant received a golf package provided by one of our companies—Travelers Insurance. Representatives from ProStar Insurance included Eric Johnson and John Pfeil along with their wives and friends. The event was a great success and ProStar enjoyed the opportunity to help out the Sequoia High School Scholarship fund.

In the spring of 2009, the ProStar Insurance softball team finished 2nd in the Lynnwood Co-Ed Softball League. Team Manager Andrea Penski said, “I would like to thank ProStar Insurance for all their support over the past three years helping make it possible for us to play together in our community. It is great to represent ProStar on the ball field!” Both Eric Johnson and John Pfeil of ProStar Insurance have played with the team since its inception and enjoy being a part of the competition.

In the fall of 2008, John Pfeil and his wife Adriane went with a team to Uganda, Africa to work with a non-profit organization called H.U.G.S. (Helping Ugandans Grow Stronger). While there, the team did various service projects to improve the property of Bright Hope School and Orphanage, played with the children there, taught classes on health and hygiene, and provided Bright Hope with numerous supplies and toys for the kids. On July 31, 2009, John Pfeil represented ProStar Insurance in yet another charity golf tournament for the second time in a week—way to take one for the team, John! His team won 2nd Place in the tournament being edged out by a mere 2 strokes. The tournament provided much needed funding for the Swimming and Diving program at Snohomish High School whose budget had been cut due to difficult economic times.
